NGC 5566 (Arp 286)

NGC 5566 sprial galaxy type SBa, with NGC 5560 spiral galaxy type SBb/P (upper right), and NGC 5569 sprial galaxy type SBc (upper left) in Virgo.   Together these are also cataloged as Arp 286.  Taken May 3, 6, 9, 26 and May 27 2008 with a DSI Pro II and Outback Cooler, on a C8NGT (8" Newtonian f5) and an ASGT mount.   LRGB subframes were 3 minutes each.  The RGB frames where also used to create synthetic L subframes which were then combined with the actual L subframes to give the following total exposures (sL+L):R:G:B (min) =  (117+165):123:132:117.  Color balance was achieved via numerically scaled channels.  Captured with Envisage, calibrated and sigma combined in Iris with other processing using FITZ, PixInsight LE and Photoshop CS.    North is up.
