IC 1396

IC 1396 Emission nebula and cluster in Cepheus.  Taken Aug 20, 22, Sept 13 and Sept 14 2007 with a DSI Pro II and Outback Cooler with a Pentax SMC-DFA 100 mm lens.   H-alpha subframes were 5 min at f3.5, OIII subframes were 8 min at f3.5 (not very prominent), G subframes were 2 min at f3.5 and B subframes with an Orion Skyglow filter (used to control star bloat in the B channel) were 3 minutes at f3.5.    The resulting total exposures were Ha = 110 min, OIII = 144, G= 52 min and B= 81 min.   The final LRGB composite was processed in the following combination Ha:Ha:OIII+G:OIII+B.  Captured with Envisage, calibrated and sigma combined in Iris with other processing using FITZ, PixInsight LE and Photoshop CS.    North is up.
