This is a single 40 minute exposure with the Meade LXD75 8" Schmidt Newtonian. The image was captured at prime focus with my 26 year old Olympus OM-1 and Fujichrome Provia 400F slide film. The scope was manually guided with an Orion 910mm f/l guidescope. Post processing done with Adobe Photoshop 7 for Mac OSX. Fujichrome 400F Provia is an excellent film for deep sky astrophotography. It's a fine grain film whose colors are very well balanced, has excellent blue response is evidenced in this image. The Meade LXD75 SN8 is designed to fully illuminate a 35mm film frame and allows breathtaking field of views. This photo can be found on page 43 of the 2007 Meade catalog.

Fujichrome 400F Provia is an excellent film for deep sky astrophotography.
It is a fine grain film whose colors are very well balanced, and has excellent blue response as evidenced in this image.
This photo can be found on page 43 of the 2007 Meade catalog.
