    Hi, Andy

Don't know about the wireless remote (I think it would, unless it is IR-based) but you can certainly use a longer cord on the regular handset. It akes the same cord as your telephone's handset (not the one that plugs into the wall). I'm using a 25' cord with no problems in my observatory.

    Re: remote autostar II question

Andy,  my experience is that the remote will NOT work from inside a building at all.

I once inadvertntly walked into my kitchen with the remote and lost connetion to my scope on the deck.

When that happens you are 'Toast'.  There is no way to regain the connection without turning off the scope and starting over.

OTOH, I really like it for reducing the number of wires in use.
