    AutoAlign™

Is this option available for the ETX 125ec?  Or something like it?

    Re: AutoAlign™

Sorry, no, this option is only available on the PE models.  The only thing it really does for you is it gets the scope pointed the right way, sets the Lat/Long and date and time.  Other then that, the alignment is still pretty much the same.

I did ask the Meade folks some time ago if this would ever be availabel as an add-on the earlier scopes and they indicated that it wasn;t as simple as just buying the extra parts, that there apparently is other stuff in the circuit boards of the scopes that are different as well.

The new PE also has North sensing, auto level

New module in the Autoalign unit works out where north is

Scope checks and ensures that the scope is level, so if you are using it in the field no more worruing about spirit levels or compasses

However, you can easily upgrade an EC model to an AT model by simply adding an Autostar #497 controller (or a #495 with the latest fimrware update). Auto-align is nice, but not essential.
