How to deal with saturated stars?

    Hi,

My DSI-C seems to be more sensitive to blue light than to red or green, so sometimes I get stars saturation in blue channel but not in the other channels.
When I calibrate and color balance those frames,  get stars that are white in their borders and blue in the center.
How can I process those frames to get white stars?

    Best regards,

    Germán

    Dear Chuck,

    thank you for your answer.
There is an example at http://autostarsuite.net/photos/cert_galaxies/category1353/picture17342.aspx
The upper left star has a blue center.
The problem is that the RED channel has a hole in the center of the star.

    Best regards,

German, if you have a post processing softwear you can simply "Paint" the middle of the star with a brush tool.

Also check out this site for some good advice on post processing techniques.

    BOL and post more.

What file format did you save to, and what software did you use to process the image?

You really shouldn't have clipped the data at 30 seconds exposure, so unless you used an 8-bit file format in Envisage for the capture, I'm guessing in happened in post-processing.

Did you "save all uncombined"? If so, please post one of the original subs...

    Dear Chuck,

    I allways use FITS files.
I think that you are right, it happened in the post-processing. I redo the post processing again an the problem is gone.
    Thank you very much.
