Just read an article on De-Rotation Device on the Meade 4M website...

Seems that there is still controversy over using a wedge or a De-Rotation. The article goes into detail on some things and it is shown that the author was able to get absolutely wonderful images with just a De-rotation instead of being polar aligned.

I have been asking and wondering a lot about this device and this is the first article that actually talks about how it works and what it can do for you.

Is there anyone else out there that has any experience with this De-Rotation Device?

    Thanks.

No experience at all but it seems intuitive that imaging with 3 clock drives running simultaneously (alt-az w/derotator) is going to be harder than imaging with one (polar mount).
