Using an LPI for time lapse photography

I recently had a need to do some time lapse imaging at work and I found the Meade LPI and Envisage worked great! I've set up two prototype camera systems and should eventually have four finished systems up and running. I'm using Mogg adapters I originally bought to mount SLR lenses on my DSI to instead convert the SLR mount to a 1.25" acceptor, then mount the LPI to that. This not only adapts the lens to an LPI, but also configures standard 50mm SLR lenses as macro lenses. The Envisage time lapse function has proven very versatile. We can easily set it up to take a series of images relatvely quickly, or take images at widely spaced intervals over several days. The ability to take relatively long exposures (on the order of seconds) with automatic dark subtraction has also been very useful.

    Thanks Meade!

    John,

Glad to hear of your sucess and I will pass your comments onto the Mead folks.  Not a lot of people use the Time Lapse feature though it is one of my favorites.  It is especially good forthings like Jupiter, but is also handy for widfield images of things like tracking an asteroid or something like Pluto over the course of a night.

Be sure to post some of your images.
